Bruce has more than 20 years of success growing public, privately held, and private equity owned businesses domestically and globally. His experience is across manufacturing, distribution, retail, building supplies, and chemicals.
Currently, Bruce is an Advisor to several CEOs and Boards. He is Executive Vice Chair of International Designs Group (IDG), a private equity owned company, with revenue above $400 million in the distribution and showroom business selling tile, stone, and several interior products.
Recently, Bruce completed an Interim CEO assignment for one of the U.S.’s largest tile distributors, private equity owned Virginia Tile, headquartered in the Midwest with revenues approaching $200 million. Previously, he was CEO of privately held J. J. Haines, the largest U.S. full line flooring industry distributor with sales approaching $500 million. Prior to Haines, he served as Senior Vice President (General Manager) of the Global Coatings Division for publicly held Millennium Chemicals where he led a $700 million manufacturing division with ten plants on four continents.
His track record includes growing businesses by 2x and 4x, organic growth and multiple domestic and global acquisitions, strategy development, diversifying businesses, restructuring businesses, changing culture, adapting and thriving in multiple macro economic crises, implementing new technologies, customer experience improvement, board formation and restructuring, shareholder and other governance matters, organization restructuring, executive restructuring and recruitment, and compensation matters.
Bruce has been a director on boards including IDG, Avalon Flooring, Virginia Tile, JACS Solutions, J.J. Haines, National Association of Wholesalers (NAW), Bravo Services, American Paint & Coatings Board, and various not-for-profit organizations.
He has a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Organizational Development. His awards and recognitions include EY Entrepreneur of the Year and Floor Covering Industry Leader of the Year.
He maintains an office near Baltimore, Maryland, travels extensively for his Advisory work with clients, and presents at conferences globally.
